DURING FILTRATION AND BACKWASHING
- Salas made studies with filters built with traditional nozzles (without CONE). The results show that filtering media in the area near the nozzles and especially between them doesn’t seem to be working. Media in that zone is completely clean.
- We assume that these filtering media areas don’t work and are not backwashed. They are dead zone.
IMPROVEMENTS.
- During filtration time, our system with nozzles with CONES eliminates dead zones producing constant filtering down-flow and backwashing up-flow.
- Backwashing with water and air, using nozzles with CONES is more efficient due to the better dispersion that produces the CONES.
